The palace was built by the British in the 1800s to house the high commissioner and the Ionian parliament. It is also known as the birthplace of the late Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. It was later used as the residence and gardens of the Greek Royal family.

Head to the old harbour to stroll down the long pier as you catch a glimpse of the area’s brightly coloured fishing boats. Be sure to stop off at one of the area’s vibrant cafes.
